Tijdens de 12e European Aids Conference wilde de organisatie EACS professor Françoise Barré-Sinoussi eren voor haar bijdrage aan HIV onderzoek.
EACS gaf glaskunstenaar Melvin Anderson de opdracht een glas object te ontwerpen en vervaardigen bij Tetterode in Amsterdam.
Ons werd gevraagd dit proces op video vast te leggen en er een korte film van te maken, die werd vertoond bij de uitreiking in Keulen. Uit praktische overwegingen werd het glas object zelf direct naar haar woning in Parijs verzonden.

In recognition of the personal contribution of professor Barré-Sinoussi to HIV research the EACS commisioned glass artist Melvin Anderson to design and produce a glass object.
We were asked to film the creation of this glass object at Tetterode in Amsterdam.
The film was shown during the ceremony in Cologne, Germany.
For practical reasons the glass object itself was send directly to her residence in Paris.
